| Store Manager Mark’s Work Wearhouse is looking for individuals who have a passion for enhancing the customer's shopping experience. As a member of our team, the Store Manager will contribute to the financial results of the store and ensure customers' needs are satisfied. The Store Manager is the business leader for the store and responsible for operational excellence, including optimizing staff performance, ensuring customer fulfillment, maximizing revenues and delivering front line contribution. This role involves independent decision making and judgment. Operational and financial success can be attributed directly to the judgment, decisions and execution of the Store Manager. This position allows for considerable innovation and entrepreneurial initiative which is reflected in the degree of decision-making and judgment required. Business and Financial Management Sales and business planning, including development of budgets and targets. Financial analysis of profit and loss statement, payroll and shrink performance. Weekly sales analysis by category, item and style to support proportionate display. Analyzes productivity and payroll rates on a continuous basis. Reviews income statement monthly and takes action on all negative variances. Reviews all store controllable costs daily and acts promptly to maximize opportunities. Maximizes store front line contribution by driving sales and controlling expenses. Initiates effective controls to manage shrink . Monitors traffic report to identify opportunities by shifts and develops work schedules accordingly. Manages building and property effectively to minimize expenses and potential liability while optimizing presentation and appearance of store. People Leadership Aligns business, team and individual needs to enhance associate satisfaction and positively impact associate retention. Creates a culture of team accountability as well as individual accountability. Supports the daily supervision and oversight of store operations by the assigned shift leader. Serves as shift leader when required, responsible for productive performance through direct supervision. Effective execution of recruiting and selection system. Orientation of new associates to ensure skill, knowledge and behaviour standards are met. Demonstrates the inherent value of proper strategic scheduling as evidenced by proper and consistent use of scheduling tools. Exercises strategic scheduling principals and policies to ensure work schedules are fair and attractive while ensuring the needs of the business are met; trains store leaders to do the same. Assigns associates within strategic roster based on capabilities, performance and associate preferences. Team development, including coaching, training and alignment of teams and individuals. Performance management, including setting expectations, reviewing performance and managing performance issues: recognizes individual and team results and celebrates improvements in key driver’s performance. Effectively utilizes awards program to recognize associate achievement. Builds a succession plan for key positions and talent; establishes self as a role model by continually learning and adopting new policy, practices and skills. Customer Fulfillment and Building Customers For Life Offers customers hospitality and a genuine desire to help. Presents a store that serves the customer via operational execution; includes ease-of-shop in an assisted self-serve environment. Ensures all team associates consistently deliver customer service standards effectively, including all signature behaviours to improve basket size, frequency of shop by customer and units per transaction. Identifies associates’ opportunities to improve customer engagement practices; coaches engagement and merchandising practices and skills to maximize results. Shares customer satisfaction results with team and provides direction and training to increase customer conversion rate and satisfaction. Reviews scheduling to ensure right fit between associate presence and customer demand. Sales and Marketing Establishes market awareness through community understanding, involvement and networking. Plans and manages specials events to drive top line sales. Supports the Business Accounts objectives through effective training and execution of processes. Determines areas of strength & opportunity and creates action plans to address. Reviews Key Performance Metrics daily and informs team of results . Loss Prevention Management Supports leaders in security training. Builds security awareness, policy adherence and asset management capabilities. Health and Safety Management Supports leaders in safety training. Monitors and reviews safety programs, procedures and practices to respect associates and ensure legislation compliance. Skills Required: Business acumen and financial planning, including the ability to understand profit and loss statements and budgets. Knowledge of staffing and scheduling systems. Knowledge of recruiting and selection systems, including behavioural interviewing techniques. Management skills, including leading, motivating, communicating, coaching giving feedback, performance management, and succession planning. Retail practices, including merchandising, market awareness, and opportunity development. Strategic planning, including resource planning, change management and market adaptation. Computer literacy. Experience: Minimum 3 – 5 years experience with people leadership, including direct experience with recruiting, managing performance, team building and alignment of work teams. | |
